The new Congress has resurfaced an old vendetta against imperiled wolves.
A dangerous bill has been introduced in both chambers of Congress (S. 164/H.R. 424)—a bill we’re calling the “War on Wolves Act.” This damaging legislation would strip federal protections from wolves in four states and allow them to be trophy hunted, trapped and otherwise killed.
Please take just a minute to call your U.S. senators and tell them you OPPOSE the “War on Wolves Act” (S. 164)!
If anti-wolf members of Congress get their way, the result will be more dead wolves and a blow to the Endangered Species Act, our nation’s safety net for imperiled species.
Together we must stand up for wolves and the law that helped bring them back from the brink of extinction—the Endangered Species Act.
o be connected with your senators, type your e-mail, phone number, and zip code into the box and you’ll receive a call from us*. If you have trouble connecting with your senator, dial 202-831-3711 to be patched through.
When you call, you don’t need to say a lot—just tell them your name, where you’re calling from, and this main message:
I am a constituent—I live in [insert town/city].
I am calling to urge Senator XX to OPPOSE the War on Wolves Act (S. 164).
This damaging bill would strip Endangered Species Act protections for wolves in Wyoming, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, and allow for trophy hunting and other killing of wolves in those states.
Further, this bill would block the right of citizens to challenge these lethal programs in court.
I urge Senator XX to stand up for wolves and the Endangered Species Act by OPPOSING the War on Wolves Act (S. 164).
NOTE: Some offices have been getting so many calls, so if you receive a busy signal please consider calling back later.
